Dr. Khalid Abdul Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stressed the deep relations between Egypt and Canada. Especially in the fields of education, science and culture. Pointing out during a meeting with the Canadian ambassador to Cairo Jess Dutton and in the presence of Dr. Magdi Al-Qadi Rees, Board of Directors of the Canadian International College in Egypt (CIC). And at the ministry’s headquarters to the strength and strength of the relations between Egypt and Canada.
The minister added that Canada is at the forefront of the countries with which it was agreed to establish a complex in Science City in the new administrative capital. It has branches of the top five Canadian universities. Expressing his happiness with the steps that have been implemented in this project. Directed at the need to finish it as soon as possible.
The two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation in higher education and scientific research between the two countries. And benefit from the experience of Egyptian scientists in Canada in the development of higher education. To serve future generations in Egypt.
For his part, the Canadian ambassador stressed his country’s keenness to push forward and encourage bilateral cooperation with Egypt during the coming period. And his country’s readiness to provide all means of support to promote the educational process in Egypt. The invitation to the Minister to visit the Canadian universities to participate in the project to establish the Canadian University in the new administrative capital during the month of November. To support the cooperation between them and the Egyptian universities. And learning about educational programs at Canadian universities. As well as participate in the activities of a conference on higher education to be held next March.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Hossam El-Mallahi, the first assistant minister for cultural relations, missions and university affairs.
